GAME OPEN - INTRO MINGLE
| INTRO MINGLE: BOUNTIFUL BUFFET | ||
![]() | NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK
New arrivals will continue trickling in as time goes on, always arriving close enough to the Obsidian Fieldlands base camp to be spotted and shepherded back to the safety of Jubilife, or in the vicinity of a material-gathering party who can gather them up as well. Characters are given a spare set of clothes once they arrive at the village. It's usually something resembling a casualwear kimono and trousers, fitted to them specifically.

| PLANNING PHASE | ![]() | |
| As the new arrivals begin to show up in force, the Galaxy Team's leader, Kamado, makes more and more visits to the Wallflower. Soon after, the Wallflower's chef and owner puts out a call for help: Ingredients, of all varieties, and extra hands that can prepare and cook food. It seems a big buffet is in the works - and the whole village is invited! OOC NOTES: ❧ The in game length of the gathering, prep, and meal phases totals 4 days, but feel free to thread well beyond that. ❧ Wildcards and additional prompts are absolutely encouraged here! ❧ Characters who arrived during the TDM may consider those threads canonical to the game if they wish. ❧ Have fun! | ||

![]() | GATHERING PHASE (DAYS 1-3)
The request goes out in the early morning on Friday: Ingredients! Food items! As much as you can carry! The reward, the green haired maestro of cooking assures you, will come in time. Though if you can’t be convinced to work for free, he’ll turn over some coin with minimal grumpy mumbling. The ingredients he’s looking for are all easy to locate in the Obsidian Fieldlands - a variety of berries, the ever sweet combs of Dazzling Honey, and the savory Springy Mushrooms that grow at the bases of trees. There are other herbs and plants on the list as well, so feel free to make some up as you go.

| MEAL PREP PHASE (DAYS 3-4) | ![]() | |
| As loath as he is to admit that he needs help, Beni is allowing folks into his kitchen to slice, dice, and sauteé in preparation for the big day! Ingredients need to be washed, sorted, prepared, and stored safely. Wood needs to be chopped for the cooking fires. New additions to the pantry are still being accepted. Whatever you can contribute helps, Beni assures everyone. If you’re feeling like there’s too many cooks in the kitchen, tables and benches need to be set up outside. The tables inside need to be washed and set up as well. Decorations are discussed - maybe some colorful lanterns or banners…? | ||

![]() | FEAST (DAY 4) | |
When the day comes, tables and benches are set up in front of Galaxy Hall and filled to the brim with food. Rice, great big hotpots of ramen, plate after plate of mochi - potato or otherwise - and a truly incredible selection of clay pots containing quality teas, brewed fresh for the occasion. And that’s just scratching the surface! Between the Agriculture Corps tireless work on harvesting food and all the new arrivals’ hard fought spoils, the feast is truly grand.

| GOOD OMENS (NIGHT) | ![]() | |
| After the feast, as night begins to fall over the village, characters may look up to see that in the clear starry sky, a meteor shower has begun. The shooting stars come in all colors, too, filling the night with a cheerful rainbow incandescence. Locals stop and point, the superstitious among them exclaiming that this is a good omen. A sign that things are looking up. They say there’s an old legend about this sort of meteor shower - that if you make a wish on the colorful streaks in the sky, it just might come true... | ||

[There's a flash of colour and out comes Yuga's Rotom, shrieking loudly as usual. The berried-Geodude immediately turns to the newcomer and roars back, flexing its muscles in intimidation. Yuga wracks his brain quickly. Would electricity work on a rock? Probably not... right?]
Okay... Let's use Astonish!
[The Rotom disappears for a split second, then leaps up at the Geodude. It yelps and flinches as it's hit by the meagre move but it doesn't look too damaged.]
How you holding up?
no subject
At the very least, it's not too different from Action Dueling, right? That being said, uh... she's still learning about how types and Pokemon Battles work, but... ]
This... feels like a bad matchup.
[ Eevee only knows Tackle as far as Yuzu knows and... whatever Yuga's Pokemon did... it didn't do much. ]
no subject
Yuga has picked up on the exact same thing as Yuzu but he tries to hold his ground. Someone else needed help. It's not like he could back down.
The Geodude that Yuga's facing roars as it takes a new stance, shifting so it takes a strong-looking position. Then, with a hiss, it grabs the dirt and hurls it at Twozo. The ghost yells as it's hit, the dirt simultaneously stopping its electricity and concealing the Geodude.
A bad matchup indeed.]
... Fine... Hahahaha....
no subject
Kh...! Tackle!
[ Aria digs in her feet before charging at one of the Geodudes, who responds in turn by curling up and starting another Rollout...! ]
Bui...!
Ahh!!
[ She tried her best, but Aria was immediately blown back and into Yuzu's arms... and the Geodude is still rolling, too. ]
Gyah...!
[ Fortunately, after Yuzu catches her poor Eevee, she's able to quickly throw herself to the side and dodge the Geodude, letting it roll past... which fortunately leaves it rolling a good distance away because of the downhill slope, but there's still another to deal with.
At the very least, though... she's closer to her helper now? Though she questions whether that'll help much with both of their Pokemon injured now. ]
no subject
I think we should run.
[Yuga immediately returns his partner and pockets the ball.] Run up hill! They might not be able to catch up.
[They're rocks. How fast can they be?]
no subject
[ SHE AGREES WITH THAT!! She returns Aria to her ball as well and starts to run. Uphill is tiring for sure, but they definitely can't roll as fast as they were when they were going downhill...
But!! As they hover slightly above the ground somehow (this is not the time or place to be questioning that, but Rin yells something about it being absurd inside Yuzu's head), it... doesn't leave them completely in the clear. With their Pokemon returning to their balls, their attention shifts to Yuzu and Yuga again.
For a bunch of heavy rocks, they sure float fast. Not that it isn't an improvement from a downhill rollout. ]
no subject
[They're surprisingly fast. And while Yuga is okay running in short burst of speed, he's no marathon runner. Yuga's lack of endurance is painfully obvious. He huffs and puffs as he begins to run out of steam, falling a little behind Yuzu. But he keeps running.
The third Geodude is gone so there's just two left. And they're bound to get bored of chasing them... right? Right? ]
no subject
[ She reaches into her bag while running and her heart sinks... didn't they say something about Dazzling Honey attracting Pokemon...? She did just manage to nab some earlier... ]
Are they after the honey...!?
Ah! He's falling behind!
Hah! The kid's out of shape.
Help him???
[ "How" is Yuzu's immediate question to that. ]
no subject
I dunno! Maybe! [Yuga groans. His mind races as he tries to think what they could do. However, he's a little stumped trying to figure out how they can outrun floating rocks. Though... it looks like they go up, float a bit and then go down.]
Is there a river we can jump over? I don't think rocks can swim.
[Rocks can't swim... but neither can he. But maybe they can jump from bank to another? He only has so many ideas... but they'll cross that bridge when they get there (if it's hopefully there!)]
no subject
I-I don't think they like water!? Worth a shot!!
[ Big maybe... she thinks she heard something like that!? Rock-Types not liking water... and well, if that's not a Rock-Type, she doesn't know what is. ]
Oh, just pick him up and run then. He looks small enough! Maybe...
[ Yuzu, baffled, shoots back out loud... ] We'll be caught!?
???
[ She gets that Academia training is crazy, and well... Yuzu is pretty athletic, but she doesn't see herself carrying Yuga and not slowing down enough for the Geodudes to catch them.
Fortunately... they do come up on a river. Yuzu is actually rather confident she can clear it if she sprints as fast as possible... but Yuga... ]
no subject
The sight of the river is relieving for Yuga, up until he realises that it's way too wide for him to hop across. He looks up at Yuzu and he grimaces.]
Go! Jump!
[Yuzu can be free. She can definitely avoid the Pokemon's wrath if she just leaves him and hops across. Yuga hopes she listens to him and tries to devise a plan. Maybe run alongside the riverbank until there's somewhere more safe for him to cross. Or if he collapses in exhaustion, maybe the Geodude will leave him alone.]
no subject
[ That's not...! She can't just leave him!! Everyone actually fully agrees on that! While she, Rin, and Ruri all panic, though... ]
JUST GRAB HIM!!
[ Yuzu's eyes briefly flash from her own blues to Serena's greens... and as they reach the riverbank, she—rather roughly—grabs Yuga, lifts him up, and fully throws him across the riverbank. ]
HHHAAAAAAHH!!
[ And following that, just as one of the Geodudes is about to reach her... she takes one more step... and jumps over the river.
She just barely clears the distance. ]
no subject
[One moment, Yuga is running for his life. The next, he's sailing through the air. The young boy yells as he's thrown across to the other side of the river and crashes into the ground.]
Ow. Ow. Ow...
[Yuga groans and looks up slowly. Both he and the two Geodude on the other side of the river stare up at the girl. There's a long pause before the Pokemon hop away, somewhat perplexed and not willing to follow the duo over a body of water. Yuga sits up and rubs the back of his head.] Thanks... Ow...
no subject
[ She lets out a sigh as she falls to the ground herself, suddenly exhausted... her eyes shifting back to Yuzu's blues. At the very least, they aren't being pursued anymore. Still, it feels like she just had the adrenaline-rush of a lifetime. ]
What just happened...?
Ugh, crap... my head hurts...
[ She rubs her temple, reeling from what seems like a brief burst of Serena's influence... control, even. Though it felt incomplete. ]
no subject
You ran, threw me and jumped so quickly... That was... really cool.
[Owww... his everything hurts. Yuga groans and he lies back on the grass, spreading his arms and legs out as he collapses.]
Pokemon... can be really scary, huh?
no subject
[ Yeah, she remembers now... she suddenly felt what she could only describe as a "surge" of Serena... it still felt like it was Yuzu herself moving, but suddenly with Serena heavily influencing her actions. Rin and Ruri are just as shocked and confused, while Serena suddenly feels incredibly tired.
Still, that's... a topic for later, when they aren't out here with somebody else. ]
Haah... yup... I don't think I stepped on one of them or anything, so I guess they were just coming after the honey...
[ She collapses herself, spreading her own arms and legs in exhaustion. She's never thrown a whole person before... though Yuga is pretty small. That being said, it wasn't as hard as she thought it'd be... maybe she wrongly assumed she was working on her own physical prowess here. Her situation is some confusing stuff. ]
I think... we also... just had a bad matchup...
[ Maybe she should try catching another Pokemon like they said... ]
no subject
...what a rush.
Yuga laughs and grins from ear to ear. He opens his eyes, staring up at the bright blue sky. This really was an adventure, huh? A whole new world with so many things to try and learn.]
Rocks like honey. Guess you learn something new every day.
[He rolls onto his side so he can face Yuzu, still tiredly lounging on the grass.]
By the way, I'm Ohdo Yuga. Thank you for saving me!
no subject
[ She turns her head to face him. It's definitely an exciting idea, being on an adventure... but Yuzu would be lying if she said she wasn't a little tired of adventuring. At least give her a few months before yanking her into another dimension again, god! ]
I'm Yuzu, Hiiragi Yuzu. [ She decides to maybe hold off on anything concerning the strangest case of Multi-Personalities for now. ] Seriously, don't mention it. There's no way I'm gonna leave someone behind like that, y'know?
no subject
Nice to meet you, Yuzu. [Yuga can't really nod in agreement so he turns back onto his back.] That's fair. If our situations were reversed, I'd do the same. Uh... well, the sentiment, I mean.
no subject
Ehehe, I appreciate the sentiment, no worries!
...leave him alone with me and I can whip him into shape, I bet.
Serena! No!
Why not!??
[ ...and immediately lets out a more exasperated sigh. Seriously... ]
no subject
What's up? You still kept the honey, didn't you? Or something else on your mind?
no subject
N-Nah, I still kept the honey, just... something for another time.
[ When she can explain it without being perceived as a crazy person. Mind you, Yuga seems like a good kid who would understand, but in the first place their focus should be getting home at this point. ]
Let's head back, I think I'm all done with expeditions for today after that... ]
no subject
[Yuga's not one to pry. He's a little... a lot curious, sure, but he's not going to pester a stranger about it. Yuga smiles, stretches one last time and then sits up.]
Heading back sounds good. I wish I got more iron ore and tumblestones but there's always tomorrow. Shall we, Yuzu?
[He hops up to his feet and grins at her.]
no subject
So once they all manage to figure that out, they'll have to make it pretty clear what's going on. ]
Yup, let's go, then!
[ She gets to her feet as well. All in all, despite the Geodude attack, things went pretty well. ]
