GAME OPEN - INTRO MINGLE
INTRO MINGLE: BOUNTIFUL BUFFET
![]() | NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK
New arrivals will continue trickling in as time goes on, always arriving close enough to the Obsidian Fieldlands base camp to be spotted and shepherded back to the safety of Jubilife, or in the vicinity of a material-gathering party who can gather them up as well. Characters are given a spare set of clothes once they arrive at the village. It's usually something resembling a casualwear kimono and trousers, fitted to them specifically.

PLANNING PHASE | ![]() | |
As the new arrivals begin to show up in force, the Galaxy Team's leader, Kamado, makes more and more visits to the Wallflower. Soon after, the Wallflower's chef and owner puts out a call for help: Ingredients, of all varieties, and extra hands that can prepare and cook food. It seems a big buffet is in the works - and the whole village is invited! OOC NOTES: ❧ The in game length of the gathering, prep, and meal phases totals 4 days, but feel free to thread well beyond that. ❧ Wildcards and additional prompts are absolutely encouraged here! ❧ Characters who arrived during the TDM may consider those threads canonical to the game if they wish. ❧ Have fun!

![]() | GATHERING PHASE (DAYS 1-3)
The request goes out in the early morning on Friday: Ingredients! Food items! As much as you can carry! The reward, the green haired maestro of cooking assures you, will come in time. Though if you can’t be convinced to work for free, he’ll turn over some coin with minimal grumpy mumbling. The ingredients he’s looking for are all easy to locate in the Obsidian Fieldlands - a variety of berries, the ever sweet combs of Dazzling Honey, and the savory Springy Mushrooms that grow at the bases of trees. There are other herbs and plants on the list as well, so feel free to make some up as you go.

MEAL PREP PHASE (DAYS 3-4) | ![]()
As loath as he is to admit that he needs help, Beni is allowing folks into his kitchen to slice, dice, and sauteé in preparation for the big day! Ingredients need to be washed, sorted, prepared, and stored safely. Wood needs to be chopped for the cooking fires. New additions to the pantry are still being accepted. Whatever you can contribute helps, Beni assures everyone. If you’re feeling like there’s too many cooks in the kitchen, tables and benches need to be set up outside. The tables inside need to be washed and set up as well. Decorations are discussed - maybe some colorful lanterns or banners…?

![]() | FEAST (DAY 4) | |
When the day comes, tables and benches are set up in front of Galaxy Hall and filled to the brim with food. Rice, great big hotpots of ramen, plate after plate of mochi - potato or otherwise - and a truly incredible selection of clay pots containing quality teas, brewed fresh for the occasion. And that’s just scratching the surface! Between the Agriculture Corps tireless work on harvesting food and all the new arrivals’ hard fought spoils, the feast is truly grand.

GOOD OMENS (NIGHT) | ![]()
After the feast, as night begins to fall over the village, characters may look up to see that in the clear starry sky, a meteor shower has begun. The shooting stars come in all colors, too, filling the night with a cheerful rainbow incandescence. Locals stop and point, the superstitious among them exclaiming that this is a good omen. A sign that things are looking up. They say there’s an old legend about this sort of meteor shower - that if you make a wish on the colorful streaks in the sky, it just might come true...

lup l the adventure zone
[New day, same unexplainable shit.
At this point in her ridiculously long life, Lup's lost track of how many times she's unintentionally hopped from one world to the next. Sure, there was the long ass century she spent being chased through time and space by the Hunger, but then there were the years jerked around by the turbo-liches of Hadriel, never once satisfied with letting their captives linger in one place for too long.
But even with all of her vast experience in always being on the move, this particular place already feels so vastly different to Lup. She can't quite put her finger on just why that is yet though, so maybe the woman needs to get down on a little recon mission of her own.
--So the elf is sprawled out on the ground near the entrance of the village, her Salandit laid out just as casually next to her. Though the village garb has been thrust at her, Lup has yet to change into those drab clothes, still dressed in an all too casual crop top and cut offs, the shirt text colorfully stating, 'Lich Please'.
Oh, and both the elf and her new lizard are staring right at you with the same sharp, toothy smile.]
Hey thug, you new around here too?
ii. gathering phase
[Oh, you thought you'd have a peaceful day out among the Combee? Not a chance.
Out of nowhere, while you are out gathering for the big feast, the elf suddenly pops up out of nowhere and thrusts her Arc Phone into your hands. The camera app is open and she's already hopping back a few paces to strike a pose. Has she even met you before? Probably not, but Lup really doesn't care.]
Quick, get a good pic of me. I look way too hot to waste it on all on the nothingness out here. These bugs just aren't giving me the attention I deserve.
iii. good omens
[For the first time since her arrival a few days earlier, the elf isn't making herself the center of attention. She's sitting out a little further away from the crowds, head tipped back to watch the stars streaking across the sky with a far-off look, knees drawn to her chest and arms wrapped around them.
This isn't the way things were meant to go. So many of her family didn't follow her this time and Lup doesn't know how to even begin processing that loss.
Feel free to drag her out of her thoughts or just give her a little company.]
iv. wildcard
[hit me with any other prompt you'd like or hmu on disco or plurk (
iii, of course
So. This one's fuckin' new, huh? Hope really got us this time.
no subject
- Nothing could ever get her to admit aloud how inviting the total silence can be after all those years of isolation. It's just not something Lup's ready to even consider.
Taako doesn't need to announce his presence, just the same as she's never had to back. Just one second they're apart and the very next they're already slipping into the twin-shaped empty spaces beside the other, Taako bumping her hip at the same time that Lup's head drops down soundlessly to his shoulder. Not a word needs to be spoken for them both to fall into one another, no matter how much time they've spent apart.
Her hand curls at his waist.]
Such a fuckin' dick. [There's no hiding the annoyed pout in her voice.] You think he's laughing his pretty ass off at us back wherever he is? Dangling fucking home in our faces and then shovin' us off into the boonies?
no subject
You know if we ever see him again he'd be all 'noooo, that wasn't me, something else got in the way, I'm an innocent little baby' or whatever. Like he did every single time. He opened the door and didn't even check what was on the other side like a big idiot.
[Taako sighs, more dramatically than he needs to, but as dramatically as he knows the situation demands.]
As usual, we remain the only smart people in existence, and everyone else fails us by being stupid as hell. It's a fuckin' shame.
no subject
Ugh, you are so right, that's exactly the kind of crap he'd pull on us. All cause we had the sense to call him and the others out on their shit. It's not our fault the people spoke and we were more popular than all of them combined. [Lup scoffs, finally lifting her head from his shoulder, but refusing to untangle from Taako's side.] Get on our level.
[Commiserating like this really doesn't help their situation in the slightest, but it does ease some of the lingering melancholy that had been settling into Lup's chest. It helps. Being with Taako always helps.]
Guess we just gotta prove we can run this place too.
no subject
Look, 'ss only like... you, me, 'n Krav. Everybody else had to have made it, and they'll know shit happened and go bust Hope's balls. We'll be outta here in no time.
[They both know it doesn't work like that, but the mental imagery is uplifting, at least.]
At least this world comes with free food and dogs that breathe fire that want to be out friend. That's kinda fun.
no subject
Lup's grip around her brother's middle disappears as her hand reaches up to brush some of the hair from her twin's face. Even in this, they're always matched up and perfectly in-sync. One plays stronger for the other, then they shift and the other picks up the role. It's comforting, being each other's sole support like this. It's all they'd ever known for so long.]
You know it. [The last bit of irritation flees from Lup's tone, leaving her sounding so much more sure of her own words.] For all the times we had to save their sorry asses, they'll be here in no time.
[It's just facts. Hadriel couldn't hold them in and neither will this place either. They are getting home.
Lup's fingers brush away Taako's hair and then fall gently to his shoulder, her palm resting there, squeezing carefully.]
Hey, m'sorry about Krav. Not that he's here but like... that he's not the other one. Is it weird?
no subject
Of course it's fuckin'-- weird, y'know? He's still, y'know, still the weird bonefucker he's always been and his dick is still there so like could be worse.
[He sighs, as if forcing himself to expel some of the feelings and words stuck in his throat.]
He just doesn't-- know stuff. I'm gonna have to work up to saying a whole bunch of shit that I already said and made me like, turbo-vomit, and that sucks so hard it's a black fuckin' hole.
I - [emporio voice] why she feel familur,
The corps have estimated his age to be around 12, determined him working age, and ultimately noted that while he would be given time to recover he should make sure to get to pulling his weight sooner rather than later. Emporio, suffice to say, has found himself even more lost than when he woke up. Finding out that the thing in the ball at his waist is apparently, to everyone, terrifying, has not eased that either.
It feels like something's about to blow. It feels like he's the one who's potentially going to be doing that. It feels-]
Huh-?
[Honestly he didn't even realize where he was going, and now there's a lady with long ears and a lizard and......................
................................somehow the way she said that actually doesn't make him feel so bad, anymore.
...He doesn't even know who this lady is. It just feels...familiar, somehow.] I...yeah. I mean, I am, yeah, [he mutters, rubbing the back of his head.]
...I don't actually remember getting here to begin with...
no subject
It's a kid so at least some of the predatory sharpness of the woman's grin dims down at the sight of the boy, playful warmth curling at her expression instead as her pointed chin plops down into her palm, watching him curiously.
He's young - Lup may not be an expert at human age, but he at least looks younger than Angus - and that familiar ball at his side states he's been given the same exact welcome into this place that she had. Do they really put kids to work just like that in this place? Seems like no one is exempt when it comes to helping these strangers out, huh.]
For real? [The elf's grin never fades, but there's a noticeable twitch of her long ears, the jewelry dangling there dancing in the most minute show of concern. At least when Taako and herself set out on their own at around his age, they at least had each other. Who does this kid have to rely on?]
The name's Lup - [The woman sits up and points a long nail in the direction of the salandit.] - And this is Bandit. Who're you?
no subject
[Ah-] Oh- Uh, Emporio Alniño...my pokemon is in the ball for now, since they're a 'ghost'- people were getting nervous, so I wanted to make sure they would stay safe.
sorry for the delay baby!!
a kid with no memories? that's a hell of a lot more disturbing.]
Sounds just like the folks around here. They sure are scared of absolutely nothin'. Good thing the two of us got our heads on straight, right?
So, kiddo, you got a place to stay? Anyone to help take care of you?
IT'S ALL GOOD,
Oh- yeah. They let me stay in one of these buildings in exchange for joining one of their divisions...mine is Survey?
...I haven't actually done any 'surveying' yet though...
