Huff Runda | Field Logs and Follies

Who: Huff and anyone who might interact with her on her fieldwork/rampage.
Where: Throughout the Obsidian Field-lands, particularly in the lowland and mountain areas.
When: March 16'th to April 1st.
What: It is time for the grand projects to begin! However, Huff is endeavoring not to get ahead of herself. Her goals require a little... a bit.... a lot of prep work. Her initial team is ready to go, and now it is time for camping, battling, and exciting geological surveys. Excelsior!

I : Setting Out/Up - Jubilife Mountain Pass

Huff had never been what could be called, the best, at camping. More realistically, Huff had been called several less flattering camping related things by her dear husband, including 'she who starts campfires with thermoclastic reagents' and 'Scourge of tents'. This trend was sadly playing out as she endeavored to set up her field camp.

Her pokemon, and she was truly beginning to think of them as such, had been making a valiant effort at steering her in the right direction, and, in the memorable case of Mint, away from tripping down a hill. Nonetheless her inexperience with outdoorsmanship was on full display as she attempted to moor tent poles in the correct locations without accidentally pulling the tent itself over... again. Crunchy was being a great help. using his enormous bulk to act as a counterweight, and Vet the Second was not precisely helping but was providing some form of silent moral support, or scathing judgement it was hard to tell.

In either case, this was the state that any passerby would find the small smith; cursing colorfully and slightly tangled in tent ropes.

II: Glass is in Session - Mountain Pass Canp

Huff had had something of a rough couple nights, but now, finally, she felt she was making progress. After discovering the wonders of type advantages, Sizzles, who consistently surprised her with the gap between their adorable appearance and enormous capacity for burning things, had gained quite a bit of experience. This equated to a surprising jump in his ability to get things searing hot quickly. As a result, some food was burned, but a great deal of experiments had been successfully undertaken.

Currently, Huff was, not entirely successfully, attempting to make a form of silicate glass. “Ok, I think we are going to need a larger blast of fire over an area.” Huff intoned, Backing away slightly. A couple singed shoelaces had taught her that Sizzles had questionable aim during sustained bursts. “Aaaaand, fire!” She called.

Another flash of fire lit up the camp briefly, illuminating the, in all likelihood rather confounded face of a new entrant to the area, perhaps drawn by the flashes of light.

III: Tracking Quarry - West Obsidian Hills Mtns

Huff had spent a long time in the village trying to plan out a workshop. This was a mixed endeavor. On one hand, the technologies certainly seemed to exist to create something workable, if not quite up to her normal standards. On the other they weren’t… here. She had gotten into three separate arguments about the issue before declaring that she would build a fireproof area her DAMNED self.

Unfortunately, now she had to actually do so. She missed the ability to place requisition orders so badly. Still, when the chips were down, she wasn’t about to let a little thing like feasibility get the way of her desire to hole up in her native environment.

For this reason, Huff was now standing on the back of her Onix, looking out over the rocky hillside of the mountain pass, trying to find a good place to begin making a quarry. The pokemon seemed to be content to occasionally grab a mouthful of dirt as her trainer stared pensively at the mountainside. “I mean it looks like good quality sandstone to me.” Huff said, apprehension clear on her face. “But I’m not a geologist.”

“Gruuuu.” Said Crunchy, having figured out that Huff mostly just wanted someone to make an acknowledging noise sometimes while she thought about things. Huff slid down the side of the pokemon’s back walking over to the wall and crouching down to look at it closely. “I mean it sure looks... like a rock?” She muttered.

This is where a passerby would find her, crouched in front of a wall, glaring intently at it as though it was keeping secrets from her.

"Er, hi. Yes, it's lovely out." Paige's cheeks also flush, having been caught in the act of rubbernecking this train wreck. "Um. Do you...are you...?"

Do you need help. Are you okay. Yes and no, respectively, she assumes. She does have to get these ingredients back to Beni, but what's the harm in stopping to help? That's what she's supposed to do while she's here, right? Help?
